My house or outbuilding has been removed since January 1 of the current year. Do I still have to pay taxes on it?
Yes. Per the North Carolina General Statutes, the value of a parcel is based on the condition of the property as of January 1 of the current year. Please let our office know if any buildings have been torn down, moved, or added during the year.
