Local Pharmacies and Novant Health Clinics Now Offering the Flu Vaccine

Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Some people — such as older people, young children, and people with certain health conditions — are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year. 

The flu vaccine is safe and an effective way to prevent the flu, or prevent a more severe case. Preventing illness is key for employers and for our community. Especially during COVID-19, we want to reduce the burden of the flu on Rowan County. We have compiled a list of local pharmacies who are currently offering the flu vaccine. In many cases, the flu shot is free with health insurance. 

NOVANT HEALTH, ROWAN MEDICAL CLINICS

All Novant Health clinics should have flu vaccines by October 1^st and will be offering them by appointment only. Please call your primary physician to schedule an appointment. Novant Health clinics are also accepting new patients at this time if anyone needs a doctor and/or needs to get their flu vaccine.
