Prevent Spread by Those Without Symptoms

Although we’ve said it before, the Public Health Command Center wishes to continually stress the importance of wearing facemasks.  This protects others from you, even if you don’t think you have the virus.

While people who are sick or know that they have COVID-19 should isolate at home, COVID-19 can be spread by people who do not have symptoms and do not know that they are infected.   In addition to wearing masks, it’s important for everyone to practice social distancing (staying at least 6 feet away from other people) in public settings. Cloth face coverings provide an extra layer to help prevent the respiratory droplets from traveling in the air and onto other people.

COVID-19 Drive-thru Testing Event

The Rowan County Public Health Department is conducting a drive-thru COVID-19 testing event on June 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at West End Plaza.  There are many additional testing times and locations throughout Rowan County.

According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, anyone receiving a test from any source or location should self-isolate until test results are received.  This is intended to minimize the risk of spreading the virus during the time from test until results are received.

For a complete list of testing locations and additional information, visit the Rowan County COVID-19 Testing webpage.
