Make RoCo Count

Now that North Carolina is beginning to get back to more familiar routines we’d like to remind Rowan County Communities to participate in the 2020 Census.  At 57.5% self-response rate, Rowan County is slightly ahead of the State’s rate, but we’d like to be a leader among counties. 

Census results are important for the future of our county.  Funding for local schools, emergency services, roads, and healthcare depends on accurate Census data.  The last Census was taken in 2010.  Each uncounted citizen equals more than $6000 of lost funding.  That’s per uncounted person.

If you have not already participated, please take less than 10 minutes to make 10 years of difference.  It’s not too late; you can still complete the census today.  It’s safe and secure; the US Census Bureau keeps your answers safe and confidential.

N.C. State Parks Begin Phased Reopening

North Carolina State Parks have begun a phased reopening that includes most roads, trails, boat ramps and restrooms. Campgrounds, picnic shelters, swim areas, playgrounds, visitor centers and other common gathering areas, however, will remain closed.

Rowan County park amenities remain closed, but trails and open spaces are available for use.  View the Rowan County Department Operational Changes (PDF) for the latest information on all County facilities and operations.
