Rowan County Health Department Designates Nursing Home Coordinator 

In a continual effort to prepare for future conditions, the Health Department has designated a Nursing Home Coordinator.  A public health nurse will be assigned to continually focus on support and prevention strategy for every nursing home in Rowan County.  

“This is a proactive commitment to our long-term care facilities in which we can directly support their needs and work to prevent outbreaks as much as possible,” said Public Health Director Nina Oliver.  The Nursing Home Coordinator’s time will be dedicated to contacting or visiting the 25 nursing homes in Rowan County on a daily basis.  Should any needs or concerns arise, the public health nurse will be able to immediately coordinate a response in coordination with the Public Health Command Center.

Healthy Mind, Healthy You: Dealing with Stress in Stressful Times - Monday, May 4, at 4 PM

Join this free Zoom session with a therapist from the Center for Emotional Health and learn tips to help cope with the stress of these uncertain times. This interactive program also allows participants to ask questions and get answers from a licensed mental health professional.

This information will only be shared with the Center for Emotional Health; you will receive an email with Zoom Meeting information.  Participants can download Zoom for free (visit Zoom.us for more information) or dial in to join the meeting. 

Potential participants can also call the library’s Central Line, 980-432-8670, to submit their registration information and/or to learn more about Zoom.
