[ARCHIVED] Challenge of the Badges Fundraiser

Rowan County Communications Logo

Emergency Responders coming together to support one of our local emergency personnel in need.

911 Telecommunications are the emergency personnel behind the scenes.  They are the first of the first responders. Allen Carlyle is a veteran employee of the Rowan County Department of Telecommunications. Allen is experiencing serious medical conditions. He is currently on a kidney and pancreas transplant list and receives dialysis daily.

As members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and surrounding Emergency Personnel (Law Enforcement, Fire, 911, and EMS), we have come up with the concept to combine our efforts of raising funds as a way of supporting our local emergency personnel.

The goal of this event is to have each emergency response department to conduct their own fund raisers. On the day of the scheduled event, all departments will come together for a day of celebration. This year’s proceeds will go to assist medical and personal needs during Allen’s continued treatment.

On Saturday, September 29, 2018, Emergency Responders and their families, along with sponsors and the public will enjoy a day of fellowship at Dan Nicholas Park. There will be pre-sale BBQ Chicken prepared by Emergency Responders, a Cornhole Tournament, and the evening will conclude with a concert in the park preformed by local county singer Darrell Harwood.

We are seeking individual and local business sponsorship donations.

Please consider joining us in supporting a local first responder in a time of need.
