[ARCHIVED] Senior Games Victory Dinner

Phyllis Loflin-Kluttz being recognized

Each Spring, area seniors participate in the Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games & SilverArts Senior Games competition, which includes shot put, discus, softball, basketball, bowling, cornhole, archery, table tennis, swimming, racquetball, bocce, mini golf, croquet, tennis, billiards, shuffleboard, pickleball, horseshoes, and golf.  On Thursday, May 21, 2018, Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games held a Victory Dinner to honor and celebrate participants and winners in the 2018 Games.

Keynote speaker Alice Keene, Member of the NC Senior Games Executive Board, co-presented an award to Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games Coordinator Phyllis Loflin-Kluttz in recognition of her 20 years of dedication and service to the program.  Also presenting the award was County Commissioner Jim Greene.  Assistant Coordinator Savannah Daniel presented Loflin-Kluttz with a boquet of roses.

Another special recognition was given to Hazel Trexler-Campbell, who medaled in more than 15 events for the 95-99 age bracket this year.  Trexler-Campbell has been a member of the local games since its inception in 1983.  Her advice to others: "I'll just say, never get too old to play!"

Special thanks to all participants, local sponsors, and staff who make the Games possible.
