[ARCHIVED] The Nina Dix Dog Adoption Center Hosts Open House for Public

The Nina Dix Dog Adoption Center located beside the current Rowan County Animal Shelter hosted an open house on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Shelter Guardians’ $2.5 million fundraising goal for this project started in 2017, right after dedicating the new Intake Room Addition built at the Rowan County Animal Shelter. Construction of this building began in March 2021.

Despite a global pandemic, material shortages, work force shortages, lock downs, cost increases, and changes to State regulations/requirements, the Nina Dix Dog Adoption Center is almost complete, pending issuance of the full certificate of occupancy, state inspection, and final move-in details.

Thank you to Shelter Guardians and their supporters for funding this beautiful new facility in its entirety.
