Changes to Summer Card program and 2nd Dose COVID Vaccination Clinic Friday at East Rowan High School

Due to limited supply, Summer Cards will only be offered through Rowan County Public Health at the Rowan County Health Department site. The Summer Card program ends on August 31st and is while supplies last.

This Friday, Rowan County Public Health will offer a 2nd Dose COVID vaccination clinic at East Rowan High School from 2 to 5 pm. This clinic is for everyone who received their first vaccine at this site on Friday, July 23rd.   Before arriving, we ask that you make sure that you have your vaccine card in hand so that we can complete your vaccination card onsite for you.

You can also use the CDC’s vaccine finder to help locate a number of local agencies/businesses that are also offering COVID vaccines in Rowan County.

To find out more information about which vaccines are being offered and when they are being offered, please contact the agency/business directly.  It is important to know that when seeking out a COVID vaccine for your child, only children 12 years old and older are eligible for the vaccine at this time. Based on one’s age, they can receive the following vaccine:

  • Pfizer Vaccine (age 12+)
  • Moderna Vaccine (age 18+)
  • Johnson and Johnson (age 18+)

In closing, Rowan County Public Health is also offering COVID vaccinations in-house on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings. We are also offering appointments for other required immunizations and well-child check-ups on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings, as well.  If you and/or your child need of any of these services, please feel free to call 704-216-8837 to make an appointment.
