How to Schedule Your 2nd Dose Vaccination

Those eligible for their second dose vaccination for either March 3rd, 6th, or 10th should have received a notification by phone and/or email this past Friday regarding how to schedule an appointment.  Please note that all second dose clinics are now by appointment ONLY and instructions are included in the phone and email notifications as follows:

Hello,

Our records indicate you are eligible to receive your second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Our second dose clinic for you is scheduled on [DATE]. Please bring your COVID- 19 Vaccination Record Card and insurance card with you.

You may sign up for an appointment time at [a PRIVATE LINK is provided to you within this email] or by calling 980-432-1800 and choosing option 1 during regular business hours on Mondays and Fridays.

If there is bad weather, please refer to our vaccine website at www.rowancountync.gov/COVIDVaccine website or call 980-432-1800 option 1 for the most updated information.

You will stay 15 minutes after receiving the 2nd dose to be monitored for any reaction. If you have a reaction after leaving, please refer to the V-Safe Information Sheet.

Please make every attempt possible to attend the clinic on [this specific DATE is determined by the date of your first vaccination].

For any questions or concerns about the vaccine or vaccination process, please call the COVID-19 information line at 980-432-1800 or send an email to: covid-19@rowancountync.gov.

Please note that the online appointment link you are provided is a private link and you cannot find it through a general search of our county website.  Please also note that due to high call volumes, wait times may be longer than usual if calling to schedule your appointment.  Also know that our staff is unable to make appointments through email and will refer you to the information from the notification on how to register.

Below is a chart showing previous first dose clinics, the type of vaccine given at each first dose clinic, and when you should tentatively plan to get your second vaccine. Please note, however, that if you can’t receive your second dose on that exact date, there is no need to panic. The CDC has stated that the second dose for both Moderna and Pfizer can be administered up to 42 days after the first vaccine. It is also important to know that the CDC does allow a grace period of up to 4 days for your second dose; so if you get your second vaccine one-to-two days earlier than what is noted on your vaccination card, you will be perfectly okay and your two-shot series should be valid.
