Fair Housing
As a component of its participation in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Rowan County has identified several activities to further Fair Housing in the community. One such activity is providing public notice and education of Title VIII compliance. Rowan County supports Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 and its subsequent amendments and furthermore, acknowledges that discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of dwellings based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin is prohibited.
Additional specifics regarding Title VIII compliance may be accessed at the Title VIII: Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity website maintained by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
