The Rowan County Telecommunications provides public safety dispatch services for Rowan County, North Carolina Including, 10 multiplicities and the unincorporated areas of the County.

Location

Rowan County is centrally located along I-85 between Charlotte and Greensboro.  The estimated 2014 population of Rowan County is over 138,630 with an estimate of over 62,809 family dwellings.

The Telecommunications Department consists of 50  employees of which they are  4 Shift Supervisors and 4 Assistant Shift Supervisors, 30 full-time Telecommunicators, 12 part-time Telecommunicators that fill in for full-time staff, 1 Administrative Assistant, 1 GIS/E911 Analyst, 1 Assistant director and  the Department Director.

In 2014 Rowan County Telecommunications processed 189,922 calls for service.
