CDC and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommend that people who use drugs get vaccinated against hepatitis A. CDC also recommends that people who inject drugs get vaccinated against hepatitis B. Because of higher rates of infection among this population, CDC also recommends testing anyone who has injected drugs for hepatitis B. CDC also highly recommends that people who inject drugs get routine hepatitis C tests due to high-risk behaviors.
